K9 Enrichment Initiative will be hosting it’s 2nd Annual KEI Adoption Event on August 21st, 2016 at For Your K9 training facility in Melrose Park, IL.
The event will again feature:
- Picnic style lunch for purchase
- Raffles for wine gift baskets
- Name the Breed contest for the rescue volunteers, winner is awarded a prize for themselves and one for their rescue
- KEI Doggie Olympics where foster dogs compete in two challenges with their handler in the quest for gold medals and a prize for their rescue.
- Each foster dog will have their photo taken in our makeshift photo studio.
- Doggie Goodie Bags for each participating foster dog.
- Potential adopters can register to win a $50 cash certificate should they adopt from one of the rescues present at the event.
- Potential adopters can register to win a complete A Sound Beginning Program session should they adopt from one of the rescues present at the event.
- The School of Canine Massage will be giving each foster dog an evaluation and massage.
- For Your K9 will be demonstrating K9 Nose work with the foster dogs.
- Trainers will be on hand to help answer training questions from foster’s and also to assist potential adopters find the perfect dog for their lifestyle.
- We will have a large matted room with toys for potential adopters to spend time with a potential adoptee to better gauge if it’s a match.
- The KEI Lifetime Achievement Foster Dog medal will be awarded to the 2015 recipient.
- Vendors, Animal Welfare Foundations, Special Guests
The event is designed to be fun for your foster dog’s, educational for foster’s and a networking opportunity for rescues. The event is NOT your typical meet and greet. Potential adopters can watch the dogs participating in the events, ask questions and spend time with potential adoptees.

Our hosting venue, For Your K9 is a relationship based training facility and does not allow the use of electronic or choke collars in their building. The School of Canine Massage is a force free advocate and again prohibits the use of electronic or choke collars in their treatment rooms.
